This 2008 Sauvignon Blanc is sourced from the cool climate of Arroyo Seco in Monterey County. The wine incorporates four percent Viognier to increase aromatics and soften the mouthfeel. It has a brillant white-gold color. The wine opens on grapefruit, citrus, white flowers and fresh cut grass. It is vibrant and fresh. The mouthfeel is generous but light and crisp, it is somehow a full but not heavy. The mineral notes linger and create a balanced feel with a great acidity and freshness.

2009 Argento Bonarda (Mendoza, Argentina)
Bonarda was until recently the most widely planted wine grape variety in Argentina. It has only recently been surpassed by Malbec in area. Despite this abundance, it has not traditionally been used to produce varietal wines - being used instead for bulk production of table wines - though there are some notable and outstanding exceptions to this pattern. In most Argentine vineyards, Bonarda is one of the last grapes to be harvested. Today there are 46,000 acres of Bonarda in Argentina, of which 38,000 are in Mendoza with most of the rest in San Juan.
This wine was fermented in stainless steel for seven days and then transferred into oak where it was aged for 3 months to develop complexity. The finished wine exhibits an intense nose of fresh raspberries with violet tones. Ripe red berry fruit flavors are combined with hints of floral notes. The wine is bright and juicy with generous mouthfeel that leads into a soft, round finish. Try this with grilled pork tenderloin with cherry salsa.
